This is my Prezi example for my future students to show them how to integrate music into their Digital Storytelling project. My aim class is for grade 6. There are many platforms they can use, such as PPT, Prezi, iMovie, Moviemaker etc. I think the most difficult one would be Prezi. The reason why such a easy operate presentation tool would become the difficult one is because, you can easily embed music, sound and video into your Prezi presentation, however, when you make the music as the background it is a bit complex.
The full instruction will be shown in my Wiki space. Even though I feel a little concern about whether the students can handle this. However, I believe once they follow the detailed instruction and do it step by step, they could come out a excellent work and will be proud of their capabilities.

ReplyDeleteVery cute story idea. I think that is appropriate for Grade 6, by my best estimation... I have not had experience teaching the upper grades so I cannot give you more exact criticism. I love adding music and I think I might try to do that sometime to my Prezi!

DeleteI like the fact that you want students to embed music into their presentations. I love the idea. However, as a 6th grade teacher (for 15 years) I can tell you that if you do not give a specific time limit, students will spend most of the time just listening to music. There has to be some set guidelines. Also, consider the idea of using censored music...kids these days are into music with unsavory lyrics.

DeleteThanks for remind me this, it is also my concern, I added some specifications in my lesson plan regarding to the time limit as well as the timeline for their whole projects. You are right, to avoid the unsavory lyrics, I will demonstrate in my instruction of lesson to let them chose music without lyrics, such as piano pieces.
